About Hajdúszoboszló
Town with 23,900 inhabitants 20 km southwest of Debrecen on national highway No. 4. The main attraction is the world-famous medicinal thermal bath.

The 73 degree C thermal water gushed out from the depth of 1090 m on 26th October 1925. The complete reconstruction of the bath and the medicinal bath was finished in 2002 icluding the building of new pleasure attracttions and the extension of the capacity of the medicinal park and that of the Aquapark. Walking in the park of the bath first we pass by Ferenc Pávai Vajna's - he found the medicinal water - bust. The first sight is the bell-house, where a collection of more than fifty bells made of special aluminium alloy, the present of Edit Oborzil, industrial designer and her husband - can be seen. The historic monument decorated with reliefs was erected in 1975 on the 900th anniversary of the first written mentioning of the settlement. One part of the monument portrays Bocskai and his hajdús. Other sight is the Millennium park of statues and Bocskai's equestrian statue. The Calvinist church built (1711-1717) on foundations of a 15th century church and rebuilt in neo-Classical style in 1820. At present it is the venue of organ concerts. Behind the church, remains of the walls of the fortress and of a corner bastion belong to the most important listed monuments of the town. Saint László church built in 1755 in Baroque style, frescoes of 1930. Artistic icons can be seen in the Byzantine style Greek Catholic church.
